The purpose of the hearing is to take comment from interested parties and the public on affixing the boundaries of a deteriorated area or areas, wholly or partially located within its jurisdiction and to discuss in an open forum for a proposed Ordinance enabling Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) for designated deteriorated areas of economically depressed properties within Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County Pennsylvania which will authorize the local taxing authorities to exempt new construction in deteriorated areas of economically depressed communities and improvements to certain deteriorated industrial, commercial and other business property within the Deteriorated area or areas, thereby implementing Article VIII, section 2(b)(iii) of the Constitution of Pennsylvania.



All interested parties are invited to attend and provide input regarding a proposed Ordinance enabling Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) as well as designating deteriorated areas of economically depressed properties within Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County Pennsylvania.
